I recently found a packet tied with a ribbon -- the letters and cards my parents exchanged in the seven years my father was a conscript in Eritrea and Ethiopia, a medic in Mussolini's Navy. All were stamped by censors. Real mail can be beautiful, even a treasure, but email is so much more convenient. |
